Memory of an Ape
01.11.07 (10:04 pm)   [edit]
Animals remember things by either remembering an object's features or by remembering its location. By performing some memory experiments, scientists have found that apes tend to employ the place-based strategy as do one-year-old babies. This has led them to conclude that there is a definite similarity in the structure and cognitive processes of the brain of an ape and that of a human. However, human babies tend to switch to a feature-based strategy of remembering things as they grow older and depict signs of doing so at as early as three years of age.

That is interesting. I can remember things in my life starting from 3 years of age. This post reminds me of a book I'm reading, called "Ishmael", have your read it?

Is there any chance that one day apes would be smarter than humans? :op

And here there are people who say there is NO way humans and apes can't be related....Very interesting post!!

And apes are highly intelligent , infants and apes apparently adopt the same tactics for remembering where things are, but as children develop their strategies change. Nice post:)

this theory is declared void by another school of thought who say that the genetic formula (the DNA code) is entirely different for each and every specie on earth.
