Mute Wedding
01.03.07 (1:21 am)   [edit]

I happened to attend a wedding of a special person the other day. He is special because he is deaf and dumb. It was an impressive function. Most of the guests were mute (special). As the bride was special too therefore most of their friends were mute. The way they were expressing each other's thought and feelings to each other was indeed worth witnessing. Few salients to mention here :-

1. I could hear the silence.

2. They did not need any music to dance and they danced to the tunes in their minds.

3. Synchro-dancing of two of groom's friends was worth watching.

4. Their eyes reflected more love than ours.

5. It was a lifetime experience.

I could imagine it would be and interesting experience, seeing people express themselves without sound. Maybe it is a lesson we should all take from them, as we can express an awful lot through our eyes and our gestures.
It can be so easy to tell someone that you love them and make it sound good, but if the emotion in your face is not there, the the true meaning is not in you.
Am I waffling on or what!!!!!

"Their eyes reflected more love than ours" sounds sweet. As people say that 'your actions speak much louder than words', so I guess they prove it so :) lovely!

thanx for the comment tiger. Most of the time our smiles are void of true emotions. But i could see genuine emotions in their gestures. It was a lovely experience.

Whisper -- just a note -- people who have hearing problems always have speech problems or are "mute" because they cannot hear sounds to imitate them. Some learn to speak by feeling the vibration of the muscles in the throat or face. Most people who have this disability find the word "dumb" extremely offensive.

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.” ~~~ Helen Keller

i dont mean to be offensive by mentioning the word here. Sometimes it becomes difficult to make the 'abled' persons to understand about the special persons and I experienced the ease with which they make each other understand their feelings better than us who can speak and speak well.
