Since westernization has been completed here :), we have same kind of celebrations as you do. The joy was doubled as this year we are celebrating new year coupled with our Eid (which is consonant with Hajj). posted by: akelso (reply) post date: 01.01.07 (11:00 am) Reply to: 69whisper Eid marks the end of Ramadan (considered the most venerated, blessed and spiritually-beneficial month of the Islamic year, with prayers, fasting, charity, and self-accountability,) and happens annually (often around Nov/Dec.) Hajj obligatory, at least once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage to Mecca, seems like an event to mark all life-events. Whisper, it's no wonder we in the west are so unaccustomed to such prayerful devotion. Our lives have become so truly materialistic as to make us strangers to spiritual connection ... Blessings upon you little brother. May this New Year/Eid bring all that is auspicious in this lifetime to your awareness, with inner fire and visible beauty. posted by: edsypjkosr (reply) post date: 01.18.08 (8:12 pm) Hello!
