Some people enjoy waisting time, hope you are not among those :) posted by: akelso (reply) post date: 11.03.06 (5:22 am) Just wasted time composing a long thoughtful reply, Whisper, but this unforgiving software tossed the whole message because I had the audacity to put a url in it! (Of course I keep doing that, so it keeps happening!) Here's the jist: sometimes "wasting time's just wasting time." Sometimes, though, I wonder if we don't take much needed breaks from demands on our time. (Are we as contemporary human beings, scheduling way more than is good for us to live with?) I visited a website at care2-dot-com where an article weaves time management into principles of simplicity, "Simplicity Overhaul to Make Time for What Matters Most" by Annie Bond. She discovered a few priorities her own life while on vacation: "The three things I wove into my life on vacation were: 1. Spending time with those I love. 2. Spending time in nature. 3. Spending time by myself to meditate (my version of this), read, and think about things." She suggests that if she can weave these things into her life all the time, priorities will assert themselves in a fashion that will ultimately make her peaceful whether or not she's "busy." Of course she also suggests that individuals need to establish what their unique spiritual needs are, and elevate them to the level of MUST DO in order to be well, happy and peaceful. This has less to do with being exquisitely productive and effective, than being content with the consequences of our conscious prioritizing of our daily lives. If for example, we accept and adapt to the fact that the more [spiritual - or nonmaterial] our lifestyle is, sometimes means we can do with less in the way of $$ wealth ... Priorities and consequences of those choices rule so-called quality of life. posted by: sjmclean (reply) post date: 11.04.06 (2:02 am) Let me list my daily routine: Travelling time - 2 hrs 30 minutes School - 8 hours Private Lessons - 2 hours Relaxation time - 2 hours Sleep - 5 hours Meals - 1 hour HomeWork + Study - 4 hours posted by: akelso (reply) post date: 11.04.06 (5:32 am) Reply to: sjmclean sjmclean, are you behind the wheel while traveling? If not, perhaps a nap or light reading, crossword puzzle. Take care of yourself! posted by: christine@swanktrendz (reply) post date: 11.04.06 (9:59 am) Ny goodness, sjmclean - you had me exhausted just reading your schedule. They say the most successful people in life usually have less than 5 hours of sleep an evening, yet they feel 'rested'. Even getting my full 8 hours doesn't always feel like 'fully rested' to me - shoot, does that mean I'll never be successful? lol ;) posted by: 69whisper (reply) post date: 11.04.06 (10:54 am) Reply to: sjmclean sounds okay...... you need some more sleep six and a half is recommended. posted by: 69whisper (reply) post date: 11.04.06 (10:55 am) Reply to: Lezah time is money thats what the sucessful people say :) posted by: appletree (reply) post date: 12.23.06 (5:06 pm) I will manage time follow this ka.
